New Zealand Loyal – Housing Policy

Affordable Homes for All

New Zealand’s housing market has been plagued by unaffordability, speculation, and predatory lending practices. NZ Loyal is committed to restoring the dream of homeownership for all Kiwis, prioritizing need and necessity.

Key Objectives

– Provide affordable housing for all New Zealanders

– Eliminate predatory lending practices

– Counter foreign ownership of land and housing without occupation

– Prevent money laundering through real estate

Policy Details

– Affordable Housing Initiative: The government will undertake the building of homes on freed-up land and sell them to first home buyers at the cost of construction without extorting interest.

– No Interest Loans: First home buyers will have access to affordable terms of payment, shielding them from loan fluctuations and predatory lending practices.

– Financial Difficulty Support: If a first home buyer experiences financial hardship, the government will ensure they remain in their home and accommodate the change in circumstances.

– Economic Stability: Funds will be created for housing purposes and zeroed out upon settlement, eliminating inflationary or deflationary pressures on the economy.

– Job Creation: This policy will bolster the economy and create many new jobs in the construction and housing sectors.

Eligibility

– This initiative is exclusive to first home buyers, defined as individuals or families who have never owned a home in New Zealand.

– Applicants must be New Zealand citizens or permanent residents.

Counter Foreign Ownership and Money Laundering

– Restrict Foreign Ownership: Limit foreign ownership of land and housing to cases where the foreigner intends to occupy the property.

– Transparency and Disclosure: Implement strict transparency and disclosure requirements for foreign buyers, including the source of funds and proof of intention to occupy.

– Anti-Money Laundering Measures: Strengthen anti-money laundering laws and regulations to prevent the use of real estate for money laundering purposes.

– Monitoring and Enforcement: Establish a dedicated task force to monitor and enforce compliance with foreign ownership and anti-money laundering regulations.

By implementing these policies, NZ Loyal aims to create a fair and stable housing market, providing opportunities for all New Zealanders to own their own homes.
